Near the end of the final battle, he had still been safe, although aware that they were losing, and trying to make Brandy find reason.(women are evil, you know...) Lunamon decided to take him and hide him, in case they didn't succeed. She took him to Willi's home, where she used a spell to keep him in a comalike state until some form of dark energy woke him. When the Spires were activated 2 years later, Aj awoke, and went back to Acamina, to find his friends.
